Knapps Narrows separating Tilghman Island from the Eastern Shore mainland is a busy waterway providing a short cut for boaters between the Chesapeake Bay and Harris and Broad Creeks. The new higher drawbridge, opened in 1999, requires less frequent openings that the old bridge.
