Interlibrary Loan

What if we don't own the material you're looking for? We can try to request it through Interlibrary Loan for you. Interlibrary Loan requests can be requested at the Information desk at the Talbot County Free Library. Patrons will be notified by phone or postcard when the books or material arrive. Books and other materials can be picked up at the Circulation desk.

If the book is not in the Maryland network (public libraries, colleges and universities), patrons may request items from out-of-state. Patron must be willing to pay a minimum of $5.00 per book request. For serial request, the minimum is $10.00 (which will be a photocopy of the original).

Although you can not submit your own requests via the Marina system yet, you can use it to search other Libraries' catalogs. Clicking on the link in the previous sentence will take you there. If you use this method to locate a book it is not necessary to communicate its location to the ILL staff - there are certain rules and guidelines that are followed when requesting books. Be sure that if you can find your book that we will be able to as well.

Patrons must have valid Maryland library card in order to get Interlibrary Loan service.
