What are Ebooks?

An Ebook is an electronic version of a printed book. Instead of checking them out from the library, you access them through the library's online catalog using your web browser. They're available in both HTML format (so you can scroll through text like you would when web surfing) and PDF format (so you can see the pages exactly as they appear in the printed version of the book). Our Ebook titles can even be displayed in other languages! When you've found the information you need, you can print it, bookmark it, save it to a disc or even email it to yourself, complete with citations!

How can I find Ebooks?

Simply search for them in the library's online public access catalog - they'll show up when you search and look just like any other item, but you'll see the words “electronic resource” in the far right hand column. Click on the title, and you'll be taken to the catalog page for that title. Click on the Web Link provided (see the blue text in the screen shot below) and enter your TCFL barcode number when prompted and you'll have access the entire book from the comfort of your own computer!
