Friends of the Talbot County Free Library
Friends of the Talbot County Free Library - also known as Friends of
the Library (FOL) - is a support organization that advocates for the
Library as an invaluable community resource. FOL is dedicated to
developing resources, assisting staff, and funding special programs
that may not be included in the Library's annual budget.
FOL members:
- Participate in periodic book sales and book give-aways at the Easton farmers market and other community events
- Attend county budget hearings to support Library funding
- Receive a monthly e-newsletter, Beyond the Books
- Have access to a special member pre-sale for each of our book sales during the year
FOL supports the Library financially:
- Contributes funds for the Library's ongoing operations
- Sponsors annual programs such as the Chesapeake Children's Book Festival, the Summer Reading Program, STEAM camp, and more
- Donated $50,000 to the St Michaels Library in 2025 to purchase new books and other library materials
If you're interested in taking a leadership role, ask us about
becoming part of our governing body, the Council of Friends, to plan
creative ways to raise funds, attract new members, and help run our
events.
Established in 1974, FOL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization. Donations and membership contributions are
tax-deductible.
