Read the Room, co-hosted by the Needle's Eye Academy and the Talbot County Free Library, strives to serve as a communal dialogue series exploring literary experiences focused on equity and access unique to the Maryland Eastern Shore. Special guests Southern Maryland Regional Library Assoc. CEO Ashley Teagle and Maryland Humanities Literature Program Officer Aditya Desai will join Academy co-founder Jaelon T. Moaney in conversation, followed by a public unveiling of an inaugural survey in the Frederick Douglass Meeting Room. Seating is limited.

Lunch & Learn with Guest Speaker Ron Lesher
Ron Lesher is a long time stamp collector, exhibitor, and a nationally and internationally accredited judge of stamp exhibits. He is a life member of the American Philatelic Society, which in 2021 bestowed upon him the Luff Award for distinguished philatelic research. Lesher will discuss The Taxation of Legal Alcohol During National Prohibition, 1920 – 1933. The Lunch & Learn Speakers series is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
