The Talbot County Free Library (TCFL) Foundation seeks an original logo to visually brand or identify the Foundation and will award $1,000 to the winner of its contest to design an original logo that visually brands and identifies the Foundation and its work in support of the library.
The winning logo design will reflect the Foundation's mission: “Through responsible fund-raising, advocacy, and the prudent stewardship of gifts, the Talbot County Free Library Foundation enables the library to support a thriving community.” The logo will be used as branding in signage, for the Foundation's Internet and social media presence, in documents and publications, and in any other place the Foundation has a need to brand or promote itself.
The design competition is open to anyone interested in participating. Individuals or teams may submit up to three designs.
The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000, recognition in the media, a certificate commemorating the award, the right to be identified as the logo's designer(s), and the right to include the logo design in their portfolio.
Detailed competition rules and specifications are included below. Logo designs must be submitted as specified in the contest rules no later than September 30, 2018. The Foundation's Board of Directors plans to select the winning entry at its meeting on October 18, 2018.
The Talbot County Free Library Foundation promotes charitable giving that raises private, sustainable funds from individuals, businesses, and organizations to support the library in enhancing and enriching the lives of all Talbot County residents. Public funding alone does not support all that the library does for the community.
The Library Foundation helps to provide funding for the very best services and resources, to support children's lives and life-long learning for all residents. The Library Foundation directly supports the library's strategic initiatives to play a vital role in the public education system and to provide engaging and enriching experiences for the community.
The Library Foundation facilitates fundraising efforts for projects such as purchasing historical and genealogy materials for the Maryland Room, purchasing library collections, supporting innovative programming, and by helping to provide enhancements for building renovation projects. It has also been instrumental in creating several funds dedicated to specific library fundraising efforts.
